For the life of me I have no idea what is going on! When I am saddle stitching leather the mains section I stitch is just normal and the back second has decorative angles, it really baffles me I done a quick example of it, here is the front, is has some straight stitches, a tiny bit of decorative. Here is the back (stuck veledon on it to stiffen the leather while stitching he example) but you can see angles wway more on this side? Can anybody give me any hints to why this might be happening? (also happens on every leather i try and use at the minute) Thanks in advance

As the title states, this is just a simple question I would like to know/share Do any of you get a real urge to buy tools which you may already have and don't need. Simply because they just look beautiful 😂 #resistthetemptation Love to know what you think, Dan

However as I bought it I received an email from the supplier saying the following Not sure if this applies to all of the suppliers or there has been changes in ebays conditions? Anyway I got a refund but thought i'd just share it. Thanks

Hello everyone, I am looking to upgrade my WUTA pricking irons to something better (high end) ones. After all that was said on here and other places I still can't figure out which is the best option to go for, I looking for ones which are extremely high quality and go through thicker leathers( Lancette Rolled Handles etc) easily but also ok for thin leathers too. Which ones would be recommended after all the months / year you have been using pricking irons? Sina Broks? KS ? 4Z? Others? Thanks and i look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Has any body used or know of anyone who has used the Round Blade Knife No.70 from osborne & co? if so is it a good blade to use? Or do you know an alternative round blade which is small 4.5 - 5" in width? preferably from the uk or a European supplier? Thanks in advance.

Would anybody be interested in purchasing a Rocky Mountain - Summit X1 (Single) in black, with the wooden rest / tip holder and the adjustable creasing tip (base + tip) I totalled them up on the rockymountain site and it came to about £285 all together (can check just incase) However I have used it twice, I am not joking. Twice and it is in mint condition but just sitting here, see picture below. I am also looking to sell my junior foilcraft machine, It's been used a few times and It came with an extra screw hole where the adjustments go, but it doesn't change the quality or performance of the machine and still prints perfectly, It will also come with 2 gold and 1 silver foil rolls, 1 of the golds is cheap as it came with the machine. 2 packs of acrylic sheets. Blocks (one block has my brass die on but i can remove that) a Block with a handle to fit into the machine and few other bits and bobs i haven't touched before. It comes with everything it did but with extra foils and sheets. Originally they are £800 I believe from the store (if they are any different let me know) See pictures below But if you are interested again, pop me a message or email me on dwayte@hotmail.co.uk Thanks

Hello, hope you're all keeping well. If a small company - newly startup works along side a product manufacturing company (handmade and sourced in Florence) how would one go about marketing and promoting their products? I know they could take pictures of a few of their products, but once you have taken pictures of the products... what else could be added? for example, if say the company is 100% handmade by ones self. You could take pictures of stitching, edge painting, products, tools even gluing down thread. But with company who is just starting and their manufacturing partner making the product you seem to be very limited to what you can do to promote? unless you have a wide range of products, models, websites and other things? Just wondering on your thoughts Look forward to hearing from you

Hello my fellow quarantinies, I have a question about my feed roller. Now before I start I don't have any pictures due to not having a phone, so i'll try and explain as best as I can. When I tried to level up my feed roller to the bell knife and making the gap as symmetrical as possible, it seems 100% fine. So i tighten the adjustment screws in place. But the strange thing I noticed when my leather was catching on one side so I looked from the side of the skiving machine parallel to the feed roller and pressed on the foot to see what was happening on the feed roller as it was spinning, I noticed that it is uneven? Like half of it will level up perfectly with the bell knife and as it spins it begins to go wonky? for example the left side will dip and the right side and middle will be normal? as so forth? Is there something going in side with the stuff connecting the feed roller or is my feed roller ruined? I can't seem to find anything? I hope this was explained enough

Hello everyone, been a while since I posted. I didn't want to bombard the forum with lots of random questions as I thought it would be annoying to people with my inexperience and I am sorry these might sound so (common sense like), but any help is appreciated! The questions I have are; - What reinforcement material is best to use on wallets and card holders? I seem to have problems when putting polyester as a reinforcement because it's hard to edge paint when it frails (I think that's the right word)? or it's just annoying to use in my opinion ( doesn't feel very slick after I use it) - What thickness should I be looking at when making wallets? or even card holders for that matter, I always end up going too thin, too thick? for example, do all the wallet components have to be the same width? or is the (money) slot supposed to be bigger than the card holder parts? Always confuses me. - What is a good tool to use for folding corners? I have tired quite a few little tools to "pull pinch, pull pinch) the leather as i go around the corners but they just never seem to grip? - Are their any tips when glueing the leather with PVA glue? Even when I am going carefully I still somehow seem to get the PVA onto the skin due to it moving around or just I don't even know how, and then it is near impossible to remove if it is pigmented, or is that just me being stupid and not knowing how to remove the PVA in the little pumps and creases? - Why on earth does my skiving machine get clogged up with leather after i've skived, like i'll have to turn off the machine, look inside and pull the skived leather pieces away from the blade and surrounding areas? Or is that part and parcel of the skiving machine? - What products do you use to finish your leather? giving it a nice shine and nice look? Saphir? Also if there's too many questions for this post sorry, and I will happily spread them out over different topics. Thanks again!

Hello everyone reading. I just have a few questions to help my knowledge of my leather work. 1. What is the best stiffener/backing material you would recommend? (And where to get it if possible) 2. How do you judge the length of thread you'll need? Do you measure it or just take a long piece then cut the rest away? 3.When edge creasing; * How long would you roughly leave the creaser on the flame when doing sections? Like you do 2 lines and then put it under the creaser again to reheat. * How the **** do you edge crease a V shape or a corner without ruining leather? Thanks, Vin P.S I'm sorry if it is just common sense to what I'm asking.

Hey Everyone, I bought a Chartmade Skiving knife a couple of months ago for around £145 (Impulsive buy). I have used it no more than 4 times and i got extremely annoyed using it. It's extremely sharp and cuts through leather like butter. But I am looking to sell it and I am willing to listen to offers if anyone want to buy it, Pictures of the skiving knife are attached. If you're interested or want more pictures just reply to this and i'll get back to you ASAP.
