Yea I have a block! It's definitely hard than regular bees wax. I apply it with a (hot) filetuse so it's easy to apply. I think they added paraffin to it, which would help with the water resistance probably. I'm not sure if it'll stay better in the long term though. I've used it on a prototype wallet which I'm using right now, so we'll see how it hold up. :)

Yea I saw them too, looks pretty cool. I'm really liking the new tools getting out lately. :)

Hmm that's a shame! I did order uniters edge paint with them in September. The order arrived here quickly and everything was fine. I did pay for shipping though, almost 15 euro's.

I've tried WUTA threads, Ritza 25 and Vinymo MBT. My favorite is the Vinymo. About the Ritza: It's beautifully made, but it's just too flat and looks too "perfect plastic" somehow to my taste. To be honest it's my least favorite thread. Like I said, not because of the quality. Wuta: meh, it's OK. Doesn't do too much for me. Like it better than the Ritza The Vinymo size 8 is my go to for synthetic threads. They say it's close to .41, but it feels a lot slimmer than for example other 0.45 threads I have. It is a little shiny in comparison to linnen thread though, that's why I don't use it a lot. Below are some images of it using a 3.0mm pricking iron.

@Leathercraft Masterclass I will be buying a stamp for the machine soon and trying this too. I actually bought the proxxon drill standard too. it’s being modified a bit, because this opening was too narrow. I’ll let you know how it goes :)

@Fadi thanks! Yea I know Bobrikov! What’s kind of funny is that I was talking about Shell with an artisan from my country and he said: oh I’ll just send you some. ( i didn’t ask for it) im Curious to try it!

Thanks for the comment Fadi! Good to hear from someone who has worked with the leather. Looking into it to buy it in the near future for some watch straps. But wouldn't want to purchase it for the high price and be disappointed. :P

Just an update: I ordered the Crimson Hides machine with an FN2 tip, edge polishing iron and watch-strap-hole-burnish-thing. :) Oh yea and an extra attachment which will fit a brass stamp. Don't know if it will work well, but want to try anyways :)

@Daniel W. Yea that doesn't seem rounded. I think the chart on their website is just wrong :P

Hmmpfff.. :) Then maybe I should go with an FN3 or so for a more defined crease..

Thanks for all the comments so far! I'm going to get a Crimson Hides machine soon. Probably with a G1.5 tip. Which is rounded. Their naming conventions are different from Regad or RM Leather Supply. Kinda confusing. I'm also thinking about getting an extra tip for applying wax/smoothing edge paint (not sure if I will use it for that, but want to try anyway). There are 3 options for that I think, anyone has an idea which is ideal? I think the polishing Iron would be handy as it can also smooth out alligator scales. But the S0.5 is also handy for a single crease line. :P And the spatula is maybe better for in smaller area's?

I saw that card holder on IG the other day. It's beautiful! Agree with Philip on the background. A general rule of thumb is to take a background that's darker than your subject, so that your eye goes straight to the subject. Now the background is distracting from the subject. :)

Thanks! what tip do you have? I’m looking for something similar to an FN2/3 from regad (rounded crease) but it seems the naming of crimson is different. and how do you feel about using a fileteuse as a general investment vs a manual creaser?

@Fadi Yea that's one of my doubts too. But in the video of Philip about hot foiling he doesn't apply much pressure at all. Or would you think you'd apply more pressure than you would use when creasing?
