If there is anyone looking for a specific tool let me know. I will make sure to take pictures and load that item on the site first. I am basically pricing everything 20% below that I paid for them.

@ddunn68 I went with the Large Dream Factory Stitching Clamp. The quality is very nice. Only draw back is having to always work from the bench.

@ddunn68 Yes I do think with a little bit of work they could be fixed. They did eventually provide a refund so am not out of my money.

@ddunn68 They at first didn’t believe it and thought I was doing some tricky photos editing. After providing more photos and video they said that it was normal for them to not match. I stayed firm that this was not right and that I was not going to accept them. They eventually said that they would provide me a refund but that I would need to package them up and ship them to the next person that ordered them in the USA. I agreed but also explained that I would be providing a letter in the package explaining that I had refused the items and was being tasked with forwarding them on. Since then I have emailed the company several times asking on the status and have not received a reply. It is my guess that they realized that it would not be a good idea to have me send a defective product to a new customer. I will hold onto them for a year. If I don’t hear back then they will go into the trash.

I understand that it can be done using either dominant hand or not non-dominant. The same can be said for anything using our hands. Shooting a basketball, golf, shooting a gun. But I can say first hand I have seen amazing difference when using the dominant hand. I worked with a person in the military that learned to shoot right handed because she was told that is the way she must learn. After endless hours of training she hit a wall in improvement. Luckily the trainer that believed that people that were left handed where witches left and the new trainer decided it was time to test her dominant eye and dominant hand. With her being left hand and eye dominate she was always struggling. She almost immediatly went from being one of the weakest shooters to one of the strongest shooters in the group simply by changing one thing. Jo asked if there is any information on what needs to be done differently. I think it is doing Jo a disservice by just saying that it doesn’t matter and don’t be a witch. ;-). Can she learn to do things opposite with the non-dominate hand? Sure. But why should she? Can she buy pricking irons with reverse patterns? Sure. But why should she? Can she learn from the beginning how to stitch using her dominate hand, just like right handed people do? Absolutely!

So I received my clams and I am little concerned with the fit and finish. There is about a 8 to 9 mm difference between the two arms. I have tried adding and removing tension using the top bolt with no improvement. Both arms have the letter “R” printed on the bottom. I have taken them apart and the top two holes don’t match up exactly perfect. I am thinking that is where the problem is coming from. I just sent a message to Abbey but it is currently 01:00 Tuesday morming in England so I hope to have reply from them in the morning.
