Hi folks, I have a question about edge finishing. My wife has left more than enough hints that she would like a bohemian type bag for Christmas. What she's looking for is one of those '60s style saddle bags that were all the rage during the 'summer of love'. I've made up a pattern and cut it out of a very nice, light textured veg tan but I'm not sure of what to do on the edges. The leather is fairly supple so it would be almost like trying to sand and burnish a chrome tan but I don't know how well edge paint would work with the constant flexing of the bag. Any thoughts?
