One thing I might add is a tip to avoid the crinkled leather on the lining under the lid. Cut the lining oversized, then press the glued lining to the exterior while the exterior leather is curved around halfway to where it will sit fully closed. Then you cut off the excess lining. That way the lining will be under slight tension when fully opened, and slight compression when fully closed. This same method is good for anything that folds. (wallets, breifcase lids etc.)
