Hi everyone, so that's a mid-size bifold with an external card slot I am thinking of making more of to build stock. I feel the design has potential, it fits a lot of cards and cash in a neat compact package I find.
But I would love to hear your sincere hard-hitting thoughts on that model of wallet, esp. on the design/construction and the finish/quality of work etc.
Sorry for the wannabe fancy pictures, wanted to post these.
Anyway, here it is, thanks a ton in advance!
@Julien Douve A great eye for design! The logo behind the thumb slide is a stroke of genius. You definitely have a unique style.
Not sure why all the images are showing up huge and cut off on my phone...but I do like what I can see :)
Haha I did hear him saying he wasn't impressed by it indeed :)) Tbh it is a very nice thread to work with but maybe kept for cruder things (and also I have 500m spools of it so I'll try and use them gradually :)).
I have been sticking to polyester but bought a few spools of vinymo MBT thread in .6/.7 mm and I am very pleased with it, this is what it looks like with the same pricking irons on a couple of wallets:
Thanks Fadi, really appreciate the feedback.
You're right, I started off using very wide spacing and thick thread as I was looking towards Leatherman sheaths and other bushcraft outdoorsy things but I should really thin things down I realise. This is tiger thread in .8 mm with a 6 SPI (4mm) KS blade punch.
I do use an awl as an aide for tricky construction holes but not yet consistent enough on the backside to use it for completely stitching a piece I want to sell, so I went all the way through with the KS irons on these ones. I use the awl when I stitch with the blanchard 9 SPI I have (for watch straps mostly) but still practicing...
Damn that wallet has potential!
I love the idea of the external card slot. Mainly the idea of having a thumb slot with the logo embossed on the inside part, beautiful idea.
The only thing i would change is the thread size, i feel it's too bulky for this kind of compact wallet.
What irons size did you use and which thread size? Also, do you use an Awl?
