Hi!
This is my last (finished) project, I posted this same pics today in my IG profile.
It's a document holder I called "Hazelnut" due to its colour.
The design is really simple, it doesn't have pockets or anything inside but just a pocket outside with space enough to place a phone or some small documentation.
For this project I used some Spanish vegtan shoulder for the exterior and pigskin for the lining. The thread is YF 0.45 Cream. The Irons are Wuta 3.38. Zipper is YKK #5.
Some mistakes I've made:
- I used a 2 mm vegtan and 1 mm pigskin (it's esencially what I had at home at that moment). So I had to skive all edges and it was pretty a nightmare. And the skiving didn't come out totally straight. I am ordering some thinner leathers for the future.
- I folded the lining edge against the zipper but it was still too thick to do it that way. Next time I won't fold it, I think.
- Handling and installing zippers is a pain in the a*s. Quite difficult to finish it properly in the top corners.
- I've burnished the edges with regular gum tragacanth, however I am considering to buy some Tokonole to use from now onwards as I learned that it's the best product to burnish edges.
What I enjoyed while making it:
- To have enough time to revise and make changes on the way (even if it took me quite too much time to finish it).
- Stitching the panels and seeing how nice the stitches look :)
- Making the strap (don't ask me why... I don't know why I like it).
- The wonderful smell of the leather.
So now I hope to receive your valuable feedback....

Hey Maru!
Looks very clean and zipper looks good 👍
The only thing I would change is the logo, I would put it outside 😊 so everybody could see it's your work)
Great job!
