Flipped the bag and was thrilled with how things turned out. Thought for certain I was going to discover stitches either creeping over or too far away from the piping but thankfully that wasn't the case. Phil's direction was spot on. I'll likely be making another one of these with more contrast in color - pleased with how the bag looks but it's a bit heavy on the chocolate color. I still need to make the strap but was eager to share the bag itself.
Thanks again Phil for the exceptional and very thorough tutorial. Definitely learned a LOT making this bag.
Really great work! It's a very durable bag I've found. I actually use mine a lot, and I don't make any effort to baby it at all. It's been everywhere with me and overstuffed with all sorts of things.
The only issue I've found is the starburst chicago screws I used for the handle attachments scratch the veg-tan leather of the handles when they're down and pressed in against your side. Nothing a quick buff doesn't get rid of, but you went with domed which is fine.
I hope you enjoy it!
That is an incredible looking bag! Any ideas on how many hours you have into it?
