I've been wanting to try out the Walpier Grid since Rocky Mountain Leather Supply started carrying it and thought it would give a nice texture for a trunk cover, and I really like it a lot! The one on the left was a gift for my dad, I used Buttero in natural and mahogany and I tried hand boarding the mahogany to give it a bit more texture kind of like how it was shown in the pattern project. The one on the right was a housewarming gift for my brother and his wife who just recently bought their first house, I had my mom send me a video of their decor from their old place before they moved so I could use colors that matched because they have kind of a nautical beach theme with a lot of blues and greens but they also have a lot of wood and grays. Then when I was making those two I realized that I had enough of the Epsom leather left over to make a third one and decided to go for another Twin Peaks theme, I went to the fabric store and got some red velvet and then screen printed the chevron pattern onto a leftover piece of canvas that I used for the insides of the other two. The nail heads that I ordered were 7mm instead of the 6mm that was recommended in the pattern project and I didn't realize how cluttered it was going to be until after I had punched all of the holes and put two of them in, but luckily I hadn't marked anything on the other two so i just adjusted the spacing to be a little more spread out which I think looks better. It was a fun project to do!

I love it! They look great Johnny. I like how you played around with the colours to make something unique.
