I had an idea to try a raised logo, originally it was for a quiver for archery, but didn‘t want to put too much time in to the project if it turned out a bit naff ;-)
I started with a laser cut version of my logo in both 2-2.5mm leather, and also a copy in MDF to use as a layout guide.

Glued down to a piece of Pueblo? Leather.. I then used some thin ostrich, and starting from the inside, glued and pushed in with whatever random pokey tools i could find that I thought would work to form it to shape…
This wasn’t entirely successful, so I ended up hammering the pieces of MDF down to force the leather to shape, then squashing the whole assembly in a 3 tonne fly press :-D … sometimes brute force is the answer!

Part of the logo did end up a bit squished (not overly surprising) but I could see it had promise! So I went over all the edges with a hot titanium rod, to add definition, then stitched down around the whole thing, to keep the edges as crisp as possible..

I had made some spare wallet inners out of tan kangaroo for a previous larger job so after turning the edges around my Pueblo, and completely covering the rear, I assembled the whole thing.. re-creased everywhere, added some definition to the logo… I think I’ll keep it around for a bit, see how it wears!

Super inspiring!
