Hey
Hey guys!
I started leather crafting in October of 2018 and been hooked since! I just finished up these two big wallets and I'm pretty proud of them! While working with these, hand stitching just clicked and I was able to do both sides consistently. I just have to continue practicing my corner stitching and hole placement

.
Any feedback or advice would be greatly appreciated. More photos of them on my Instagram post. https://www.instagram.com/p/Btbj8zgn09R/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=1xjj271v2qxqg
W&G are vegtan for sure.
The Shell Cordovaned finished Calf is chrome tan, just check the rml website. And Acadia is chrome tanned for sure but i have never had a problem burnishing an Acadia leather before.
My advice is glue a few pieces of whichever leathers you used, no need for stitching, and try to burnish them to see if you like how it comes out.
My personal process is a light coat of tokonole, then burnish with a wood slicker, then a second coat with a wooden brunisher. Then a third coat and burnish with a canvas, and I finish with a fourth coat and the canvas again. And all my burnishing is done by hand. I have both a dremmel and a bench drill, and i stopped using them aged ago. I can get better results with hand burnishing. It requires more effort and patience, but the results are way better. At least for me :)
