Hi I'm Christine from Berrie Leather.
I've been dipping in and out of leatherwork for the last 10 years but started more seriously about 5 years ago when I moved to the highlands of Scotland.
I initially started out making equestrian products but now concentrate on small cases and the occasional bag.
It's great to have somewhere to come for help and be able to chat with fellow leatherworkers.
Ha! Love a good niche product. Pill cases are a brilliant idea!
Perhaps you could show us some of your harness work in the 'Show Off Your Work' forum so we can all take a look.
Cheers,
Phil
I started off by myself studying at the saddlery training centre in Salisbury and after making saddles decided it wasn't really for me. I then got the chance to work with an amazing harness maker in Lancashire and made driving harness winning the best apprentice award in 2013 with the society of master saddlers.
Once I moved to Scotland I found there wasn't much call for equestrian products and by chance made a leather pill case for someone, I've been making these ever since.
Hey Christine, welcome to the forum! It's great to have you here.
Did you work in a saddlery or were you making tack yourself?
Phil
