Hello, I'm Susie.
I'm here because I saw a pretty binder for sale online. I almost bought it but hesitated because it's expensive. I decided I can either buy it or learn how to make it. The idea of learning this craft is exciting. These past few weeks I've watched YouTube videos, purchased tools and scraps, and began stitching practice. I've poked myself many times and wondered if I should reconsider my decision before moving on to cutting blades. Thankfully, I figured out that there are specific (blunt) needles for leather hand-stitching. There's hope! I don't know how long it will be before I learn enough to make my perfect binder, but I'm looking forward to the journey!
I'm so grateful to find this resource, especially now, when shops can't offer classes. The projects on this site look amazing.
Hey Susie,
welcome welcome :)
One small thing I wish someone had told me before: Be very wary of which youtube videos you watch, a lot of them have "mistakes" and "bad habbits". It took me ages to unlearn a few habbits I had gotten from the tube.
@Susie Hello Suzie! Welcome to the forum and thank you very much for introducing yourself to the group!
I'm looking forward to seeing what you create!
Philip
