I really want to focus on upping my game and providing a higher quality product. I feel like one thing that is easy to overlook is packaging and presentation of your item for the customer. My goal is to one day be able to sell more complex and higher quality items that allow me to charge higher sums of money, and I certainly wouldn’t want to mail item X that sold for $2000 in a cardboard box that seemed like somebody on Etsy threw it together on their dinner table. I would imagine a high quality leather bag would come in perhaps a dust cover with some hang tags or sometime like that. I thought a wax seal on the package might be a nice touch.
Does anyone have any tips on packaging and perhaps suppliers? What else would you include so the customer feels like they received a luxury item worth the money?

@hasacitto That's the tricky part with sending overseas. Elaborate packaging becomes expensive quickly!
Hi guys,
this topic is good ... packaging is very important to increase the value of our items.
Now I am thinking of packaging for buyers all over the world. If I use the hardbox and the bag inside, it will greatly affect the weight of the shipment.
And also I need to add bubble warp and shipping box again. and of course the weight will increase again. and it will be more expensive
Do you use the same method to sell worldwide? or maybe there are some tricks to reduce shipping costs?
For my briefcases I make a dust cover out of thick suede that adds protection and prevents rubbing and damage in transit. I also offer a fully lined timber presentation case with leather handles for an additional fee. Really easy to make, but adds another day or two to the build. For smaller items like wallets I get some oak CNC machined into a clamshell box with brass hinges and I line it with suede. Protective, and it looks good.
I would follow the idea of embellishing a good box with a piece of leather... you can order some customized ribbons with your logo (like the ones in the boxes of Hermès or Dior), I think it would turn out nice combined with boxes in neutral colours...
It's a difficult one because it really does rely on good taste and a sense of design that is appropriate for an investment piece.
For high price items I would look towards a wooden box or high quality board that you can embellish with a piece of leather with your logo.
A wax seal is about as etsy as it gets. I know because I used to sell on etsy... and use a wax seal.
People use them on everything from mugs to wooden earnings now and I find it's lost it's luxurious appeal.
Though, black wax with black ribbon on a black box still looks sexy in my mind
