When stitching a gusset. I notice that some folks don’t use any glue. I get that you can use needles to keep the pieces aligned. But afterwards, how do you finish the edges?
Thanks. That does align the holes while you are stitching. But then there’s still a potential gap at the edge. I guess edge paint can correct that, but worry about it’s durability. Edge Kote and burnishing don’t address the gap. I’ve recently started using a stitching iron on the face piece, gluing the edges, and finishing the stitch with an awl.
I always thought the technique was used as an Instagram like magnet 😉
I guess as the stitching now holds everything together you would be able to sand and edge paint etc.
Burnish or edge paint. FYI buckle guy has some “push pins” which make needles absolute.
