Hi Phil, I was stitching by following the lesson of corner stitch. When I saw the cover image of your new post, I could not help noticing that you used 2 different ways of corner stitch for two corners which are close to each other. Is there any reason for this choice ?
I am thinking maybe the allocation of the stitches within a fixed distance is the reason ? Is there any way to do the same Option 3 stitch (in the lesson) at both corners ?
Thanks in advance,
Simone
I see. I will try to understand better by using it . I am working on some small works that would allow me to use corner stitch. Hope I understand better during the work :-) Thank you for explaining !
@simone_ruan Hi Simone.
It comes down to priorities. When making a cardholder for example, I can adjust the pattern either way a mm or so, which allows me to factor it a nice corner stitch on every corner with a given pricking iron size.
In the picture above my priority is making sure the seam is centralised within the leather reinforcement, 5mm from the outside edge of the zip tape and 5mm from the inside of the gusset cut-out for maximum strength.
This design is unusual because there are normally two seams to do this job, saving you a lot of hand stitching.
So, I have given priority to accurate construction rather than cosmetic stitch placement.
In a nutshell, I have paid no attention to corner stitching here.
