So I found a Chinese YouTube equivalent website and after browsing leathercraft based videos I found someone had posted one of my videos there!
Ripped from YouTube or Instagram probably.
The title translated to 'Hand sewn video of British god Philip Jury' so I'll let it slide. I'm sure there's a more accurate translation but I'm not interested in hearing it 😉
Anywhoo, they had some interesting videos in their channel and one of them was a real gem. It's about 25 mins of silent filming inside the Hermes atelier in Pantin France.
I really enjoy this type of peaceful craftsmanship with just the sounds of good old fashioned craft work.
If anybody can find an HD version of this, feel free to post it here.
So grab a cup of coffee, take a moment and enjoy:

crying!!
Welcome to Godhood Phil, It's a nice club :p
honestly, haven't been able to stop laughing at the video title for a few hours now.
On the more serious side of things, the video is awesome. Like you said, I will take a simple no sounds/effects video of any craftmans over an over produced video any day. There is something beautiful and raw about these kind of videos.
Well for some - at 1am, if I'm not working, it's a bottle of milk in one hand and a baby in the other. One day I'll find the time. That's what I keep telling myself anyhow.
I spoke with a manager at Hermes in Dublin a while back who told me that the craftsmen and women work using natural light as much as possible. That means longer days in the summer, shorter in winter but all in all it balances out. I though that was a beautiful way to construct one's day and getting the most from the beauty of natural light. As someone on the outside looking in, I can assure that they are a lucky bunch.
Don't they look at ease? I recall some training I undertook in the south of France some time back and no one was especially under pressure. I'll send you a bottle of gin if only you keep mining for these little nuggets.

God Philip, where DO you find these little gems?
