I've been looking for a glue pot like the nice plastic one with the blue cap, brush and wipe off thingy, but they all say for water-based adhesives or wood glue only. Citing glass-only for solvents? However, there's nothing as well designed as those plastic pots in glass. So, is that a thing? No plastic pots (like Phil shows in vid's) for solvent adhesives?
Also, I have Barge TF - can I use the regular Barge All Purpose Thinner, or any thinner, or do I also need the Barge Universal TF Thinner? Which is hard to find in the US by the quart.
For those wondering if I tried to find good info on both items - online - but only got dribs and drabs of non-commital info. Thanks. -t
I have one of those glue pots and it didn't advertise that it was for a specific glue but the people at the shop assured me it was fine and often used for both solvent and water based glues. The one in the course supply list is pretty much the same as I have and used for solvent based contact adhesive, no problems at all and it works great.
I believe that weaver leather sells a glue pot that has a integrated brush as well and is suitable for barge glues. But there are numerous offerings that are cheaper on ebay that will work just as well, here are the links:

With regards to the thinner, it is best to use the same brand thinner as your glue, whether there are different thinner for one brand of contact adhesive I am not sure about, all purpose seems fine but if you want to be sure giving barge a call/email could help.
Regarding the pot, I use the same one as Phil for my solvent based contact (I use Renia's Colle de Cologne). Have been using for it a long time now, never had a problem with it.
