Hi all! Like the title says, I’m looking at buying my first Blanchard skiving knife. But I’m having a tough time choosing between the “HSS” angled one and the Oblique one. I’m leaning towards the oblique because it seems to me that it could be a little more versatile. Like, not only skiving edges, but also doing roll cuts similar to a head knife (obviously not as much as a head knife, but similar motion). What do you guys think?

I would go with the HSS Angled, mostly because of the HSS steel used.
It means once you get it razor sharp, it will stay that way a long long time, a few swipes on the strop (or even just a piece of leather) between each skive and you are good to go.
@Julian Branco I would not recommend using a skiving knife as a cutting knife. A skiving knife requires a very shallow angle in order to obtain a razor edge, but this means that the edge can roll easily under direct pressure, especially on softer steels (non HSS).
You may have seen this on a popular YouTube video, but I believe it was done for visual effect more than anything.
