Apologies in advance if this has already been answered, I have searched this forum high and low for the answer.
I am a newbie putting together my list of tools I would like to buy.
I would rather buy good quality tools from the get go. I am also somewhat on a budget, so at the moment I can only justify 2 pricking iron sizes. I am looking at brands such as crimson hides etc.
If possible I would like to be able to complete a wide range of projects with these two sizes from watch straps and wallets to duffels and everything inbetween.
As with the theme of this forum, I enjoy the fine leather rafting style than a more rugged style, so I was under the impression smaller is better in this case.
With that in mind, I was thinking 3mm and 3.85mm French style irons (I understand French vs Japanese is another topic for discussion and both have their pros and cons).
Please let me know your thoughts!
Many thanks in advance for your help and I also hope this is useful for other newbies. This seems like an amazing community!
Cheers Fadi. I went with the 4z French style irons in 3.00 and 3.85 (after seeing Phil's review on them). Looking forward to them arriving. I do believe under the bulky category so hopefully that won't be too much of a problem!
