I am on my third brush using this pot with Aquilim 315. The red plastic ferrule keeps cracking. I don't have any issues with a second pot just like it using pva glue so I am thinking it is something to do with the Aquilim glue. Anyone else having this problem? I'm wondering if I might have the same issue with Saregum since it is a similar water based contact adhesive. If I can't rectify the problem, I will probably switch to a solvent based adhesive even though I'd prefer to stay with water based for a few different reasons. Any help would be appreciated.

Well that's interesting to know! I wonder what's doing that. I know some glues contain chemicals that dissolve or etch the surface of hard to stick materials. I wonder if that's what it is.
That's really interesting! What's your experience with saregum? Does it hold as well? I've found Aquilim 315 to be a very good adhesive and have heard Saregum to not be as sticky. Also wondering what it's shelf life is. It seems like Aquilim goes bad after a while. Any feedback would be helpful.
Hey,
huh!!! You just made me think back to a time where Aquilim totally obliterated the plastic components on the brush of my Teflon glue pot! I never even connected the two, I just thought my brush was badly made or has some sort of manufacturing default.
When I say obliterated, I literally mean that. I do not use Aquilim on a daily basis, so I filled the pot, and did not use it for around 2 month, when I opened it, the plastic had partially dissolved. The closest I can describe it is as if the plastic had rusted away.
I know Saregum does not do that. Just because it is also a Water based contact adhesive, it does not mean that it is the same composition. There is probably a chemical in the Aquilim that reacts with plastics.
