Hello everyone! I guess I am the only one that didt know that Blanchard has an onlineshop but...I found these edge creasers (non adjustable) on their shop. Can someone compare them to the wuta ones? how far away is the guide from the edge on #1, #2, #3? And is 'G' a rounded version? Or 'G' has a guide and the others are single ones with different thicknesses?
Thank you very much for your help! https://www.vergez-blanchard.fr/boutique_us/recherche_resultats.cfm?code_lg=lg_us&mot=creaser
(It seems that some tools are on the wrong pages.... I think one has to buy 100€ minimum to be able to make an order. Some tools are half the price if you have an EU VAT number, comparing to the Ukraine shop I bought before)
@dominicreeves Still waiting to hear back from Regad about the cork handle. I'm now wondering if they didn't appreciate my humour when I ended the email with 'Warm Regads' 🤣.
I have the #1 blanchard, and I do not like the creasing look it gives at all. Like Phil said, it only creases and doesnt round the edge. It's basically just to compress the fibers, it's pure technical without the good looks.
I can't comment on the edge creasers, only dealing with Blanchard direct, they are very professional and the prices are much more palatable than those offered by the eBay/online sellers. The onliners have got to buy, stock, and sell individual items so I can understand that they've got to make a slice, seems to be a healthy slice they're making though.
I've also had a similar experience with Regad recently.
Group buys might be worth exploring for the pricier items, I'd be up for saving a chunk off a Metallic Elephant or a Nippy skiver if there are any takers...
@kilian I don't believe that these impart a rounded edge as well as crease.
I think that they are primarily designed for the saddlery trade where vegtan is used, so no point in a rounding creaser.
Yes Blanchard are cheaper to buy from if you order a few tools from them. But the Ukraine shop is handy for one off items. I've used them a few times too.
