Black tokonole?

Thank you for sharing that. I wonder if the first application was diluted to improve penetration, then a second application was made at full strength, would that give the best of both?

I played around with different levels of dilution, but the penetration doesn't seem to change. I guess it's back to dye.

You are correct. The application of the tokonole feels less precise than dye. Mostly because it doesn't absorb near instantly like a dye. So while it's sitting on the surface it can go to the finished side sometimes. I will try diluting it and putting it in a refillable pen to see if it helps application.

I will cut some of the leather I tried it on and post pics on Friday of the cross section of the leather.

At the moment I use a squeeze marker to apply diluted tokonole which increases speed and accuracy of application. Its call a grog marker and you can pick then up for a couple of quid. I can't remember where is saw the idea but I've used it ever since 😊

Yes. I have seen this idea on youtube and I want to try it. I use the needle nose bottles that I also saw on youtube. but this marker you illustrated looks like it could be faster.

I've often diluted Tokonole to make it easier to apply with a sponge, so I reckon that should work quite well.
