Hello,
So, I have been slowly making the switch to european leathercrafting and have been experimenting with edge paint.
I only have Uniters, and I noticed that some are "thicker" than others, depending on colors.
But, I have this one color, Midnight Blue, that is almost as thing as water. It is almost impossible to edge paint it with an awl, or the "wavy brass pen" applicator as it is not thick enough to hold on to it.
The result, once dry, is the same as the thicker ones, so no issue with the quality of the final edge, but it is a pain to work with, and it drips and tends to go over the edge very quickly.
My question is, is that normal, or has my edge paint gone bad?
Fadi, I had the same issue with two Uniters colors of several I bought. They were just plain runny. I tried the thickener but had to use so much to get a proper consistency that the paint didn't look good. So, I pinged the distributor, who sent me new bottles without question. The new bottles were usable but not as thick as some of the others. Uniters appears to have a quality control problem on this front.
Does anybody have this issue with Giardini or Stahl? (sp?)
