I've been using social media accounts from the get go trying to showcase different projects and skill level. I've never thought about building a potential email list. How would I go about that plz Phil?.

You'll need to create an email capture where you offer something in return for an email on your website. For example, look at the pop-up on my home page offering a free video in return for an email.

You can offer all sorts of things from a free PDF download with advice on what to look for in hand made leather goods, or a 10% discount on their first order. The list is endless, but you have to be creative and try several different offers to see what people really want in exchange for their email.

It's really your customers first investment in you, as people see their email as a form of currency (it has obvious value to you).

I recommend watching as many youtube videos as you can on email marketing, sales pages and 'lead magnets'.

Always try and deliver a better product than your customers expect, but remember your marketing skill will be the deciding factor on how successful you will be. Find a way to make marketing interesting to learn about, and you'll do better than 99% of others trying the same thing.
