Hello everyone, just a quick question:
When dealing with patent leather, I have now noticed lighter patches under the polish where I have buffed with a soft cloth. I have left them to see if that changes anything, but alas, no.
If I use a baby wipe or damp cloth as recommended then it goes away, but seems to come back after time.
How on earth do I fix it?
I have searched everywhere online but cannot find anything helpful so I hope someone here can help please.
@Yasmin I think a picture may be needed here to that we can see what we're dealing with. Can you take a snap?
Hi Yasmin!
I'm not really sure what is happening in your case, but here are some warnings when dealing with patent leather.
This type of leather is renowned for its sensitivity when stored between other leathers: it takes over the colour of the leather it is touched by. This doesn't happen over night, but it happens.
Another issue is that solvent based adhesives may react with the leather provoking bubbles in the top finish.
All these are tips given to me by the dealer I buy my leathers of.
