Hello again, i was going to send this directly to Phillip but this Forum seems to be very active and open so I guess more heads are better than one. Even if the one is Phillip lol. (All respect intended) I am trying to plan out a guitar strap, I would like to make a wider section for over the shoulder. I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a luxury padding material. I was thinking of trying to quilt stitch the pad. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Hopefully I can document the process here.

I do recommend Oslo "Quilting" Memory. You can use it for inside and outside. I have done a sleeve for a laptop and it turned our very nice.
@waynecostanza If you are looking to add padding for the exterior of the shoulder strap, then the above material will suit.
However if you are looking to have the quilted side on your shoulder then you will need a medium density foam as it will be used for a weight bearing application.
You may want to run a couple tests on various foams to find the ideal one.
I used some "Quilting" memory foam from Rocky Mountain Leather Supply for the comfort pad on a strap I made for a bag that worked out really nice.
I used the 5mm foam, here is a link to what I'm talking about:
