Hello
I hope that you guys wont laugh at my question.
I just received my new shipment of leather from A&A Crack & sons and this is the second time that i have bought leather. I now that leather has marks and comes from a live animal and cant be perfect as is is not a man made material but this leather has some marks like it was wet from wather and than dried out and now is cracked.
Is this normal or should i file a complaint to the seller?
The black leather is Horween chromexel, brown is from Tempesti tanery and is just perfect, ginger color is from Saint Crispin and also has damege marks.
First, I have never purchased from A&A Crack so have no firsthand experience with them. I have to remind myself to always ask about the leather grade before I buy something. Different tanneries have different scales but I simplify to - good, better, best quality. It is a trade-off between leather quality and price. If I need smaller pieces of leather then “good” might be fine. If I need bigger pieces, like for a duffle or tote, then I go for “Best.” Sometimes it is hard to get the grade information from resellers you may need to ask.
Yeah like Philip said, the tan hides are okay. Regular leather stuff.
The CXL on the other hand... Which is really surprising giving the waxy feel CXL usually has. This must have swam its way from US to UK...
The first pic worries me the most as that's from drying out too much. I take it that it isn't dyed through?
I wouldn't worry about your tan hide, this just isn't an A grade hide and the mark an be cut around. Even if that blemish was much less noticeable, you would still want to cut around it anyway.
So yes, contact them back. AA Crack aren't cheap, so I would have expected better.
