What i suggest is that you decide on a small project you would like to do (Belt, card holder, keychain), anything small, and then watch a ton of videos (specially Ian Atkison's videos) and figure out how to do it.
Do not be afraid of making mistakes and more importantly, if you feel that something in a video doesn't make sense to you and you could do it in another way, go for it! be bold :)
Agree with Adil, the videos of Ian Atkinson will be a nice help for you, also reading the books I see you bought will help you. There's a book called "ABCs of Leatherwork" that has also a lot of images easy to understand the most basic stuff. Reading, watching and practicing a lot are the key!
Youtube is a good source also, as you can see people working and learn watching, copying their methods and practice along while watching the videos.
When I just started this guy's tutorials and free templates helped me a lot! check his site. He has bunch of free templates and awesome video tutorials for each template!

I agree about Ian Atkinson's YouTube videos. A belt is a great project to practice stitching.
Thanks @Adil and @Maru Tuchi
I wil check out both those resources. Excited to get started!!
