hi there, i have been asked by someone i work with if i could make a belt for him and his girlfriend. he will not be an issue, but i have a feeling that a belt made specifically for a woman will need shaping, ie maybe curving up to accommodate hips. has anyone made a belt especially for a woman before, any ideas or suggestions will be a help while i try and work out how to go about it.
thanks
thanks Fadi/Philip, might make a couple of different widths and see how they go.
@paul p I haven't designed belts to accommodate any particular body type before. Usually a belt will mould to the users dimensions.
For example, the belt from one of the more recent courses was gifted to my girlfriend (instead of put in storage, like most). Even though it was 4mm thick and 38mm wide, it very quickly went from | to ( after a few uses.
Smaller belts will do that even faster.
Hello,
It depends greatly on the woman and how high or low she wears her belt. You might get away with a "straight" belt; it works, I've done it.
If you have access to the girlfriend, you could use a straight strap, wet it and let her wear it so that it moulds into shape.
Alternatively, I found this with a little research:
I know that Valerie Micheals uses a similar approach to the quoted text to make her women belts.
