Hi Everybody,
Just a quick question about import taxes from the US to the EU.
I was wondering if anybody here that is from the EU or even better from the Netherlands has ordered anything from the US and is willing to share roughly what % of import taxes can be expected.
Specifically asking about ordering from Rocky mountain leather supply since they have a great selection and free splitting service, which could make it worth it if the import fess aren't too crazy.
Thank you all in advance for any info!
@Ivo Verhaar There was duty to pay when I lived in Europe. But I no longer live in Europe...
I haven't purchased from the US since brexit though, but I imagine that there will be duty to pay where you are.
if i remember, i think import duty was 3%, it was the vat which made it expensive. best of luck if you go ahead with it.
Hi Paul, That definitely does help! Does bring the total up quite a bit unfortunately.... And it appears that the same thing is now the case with ordering from the UK unfortunately. Especially since I now will need to pay some import taxes as well as VAT for anything above 150 euros in value 😔
i have ordered things from rocky mountain, jeromiah watt and gritomatic. i definitely had to pay vat at your own countries rate (20% in uk), if there was any duty, that was negligible. most importers ie dhl, or your local post office, also add a charge when they let you know how much you have to pay. in the uk, usually between £8 and £10. hope that helps. oh yes, the delivery cost is usually included in the invoice, so you pay vat on that as well.
