You could potentially undo the stitching in that area (on the inside) to gain access to the piping, then you can take a thin piece of black leather and replace the worn area. Taper the repair patch by skiving the overlap so the transition isn't too obvious.
I use leather cord of a matching colour on the inside, that way no matter how much it wears, it's still the same colour underneath.

That's a bigger problem! You'll have to unwrap the piping and change the outside leather layer!!!

I use round leather cord 1 or 2 mm thick! Works perfect!!!
