I ordered some bag parts from MMC Columbo in mid-April and received one reply email a week later apologizing and saying my package would be shipped the next week, and have heard nothing since then. I followed-up in mid-May (10 business days ago), and no response yet.
Is this typical? I realize if items aren't in stock, or need to be made, it might cause significant delays, but I've had total silence from him for over a month after he promised delivery within a week.
That puts me at ease, thanks Phil. I will say, a few weeks after I ordered from MMC, I ordered the same types of parts from Abbey England, and they came within a week. The quality is absolutely excellent. Looking forward to the day when I will be able to compare them.
@andy Ah, welcome to the famous MMC experience! I see you're new here.
Indeed, this is quite normal for them unfortunately. Other than the usual delays, they aren't known for taking your money and ghosting you.
It's not always like this with them however, depends on their workload.
I'm sure you will get your gear, but this is quite common for suppliers who deal with large brands as well as small internet orders. Unfortunately the small orders get fulfilled only after the bigger fish are dealt with. This is the same in many industries I find.
I wish there was another maker of high quality hardware that I could recommend, but MMC has that monopoly unfortunately.
