Personally, for leathercraft, i always use waterproof PVA glue. That way, if an item ever gets wet or really damp (say a wallet in a pocket on a hot summer day), I will not run the risk of the glue giving on me. Specially on area where I glue without stitching, like the turned edge of a pocket for example.
