Hello everyone. I would like to know what your thoughts are with MMColombo from Italy. I feel a bit bad and would like to find out if you have mainly made positive experiences with this company.
I have ordered handle holders in the beginning of June. I had to make a minimum order. It took longer as expected but this is OK. After I received them, 3 of the gold plated were badly made. They said they will send me a replacement. I also ordered handle holders in pure brass as well as briefcase locks in pure brass. They were finished badly, meaning they were not polished everywhere - sure I dont meant the back of the locks but the inside of the handle holder rings and all sides of the locks. They said that the process wouldnt allow to polish it everywhere. So I had to do it myself - so I can do it why not them? When I said that the gold plated ones are polished everywhere, they said that it just looks like it and the plating just make it look like its polished everywhere. But as the plating is so thin, this cant be true.
I waited a long time for the replacement and wrote an email that I waited another month. They said that there was vacation etc and it will now be prepared. Now waiting another 2 month I got nothing from them. Today I wrote again....
I am the only one who has problems with them? If they are not reliable I have to buy a lot of stuff from them and store it and use it when I need it. But I would like to buy from project to project from them.
Please share your experiences, the good ones too!
Thank you!
@kilian I have only ordered from Abas Fashion Accessories, but they had not been absorbed by MMC back then.
I have had one QC issue with them which was a thread that had been gold plated and would no longer accept a nut. They said it is the gold plating that stops the nut and that I should force it on (how can a few microns..?). I ended up having to re-tap the threads to work.
They have what I call a 'lazy monopoly'. They own the luxury hardware market for retail purchases hands down, but they rely heavily on having no competitors for that title. Therefore they get lazy with customers.
They would be easy to kill off with a new start-up who actually understands what customers want and how to communicate with them.
